Dr. Sean Perot

Adult Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology.

Dr Sean Perot qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1983. He did his internship in Jervis St Hospital Dublin followed by residency in Adult Medicine and Endocrinology in Monaghan County Hospital, University Hospital Galway and Castlebar General Hospital, all in Ireland.

He obtained the MRCPI degree in 1988. Upon returning to Trinidad he was appointed Consultant Physician in Adult Medicine and started the Endocrine Clinic at the San Fernando General hospital which eventually evolved into the Endocrine Unit. He was subsequently Head of the Department of Medicine at San Fernando General Hospital.

He obtained a Post-Graduate diploma in Endocrinology from the University of South Wales in the UK and was successful in obtaining Specialist Certification from the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in Endocrinology and Diabetes.  He obtained a MSc in Endocrinology (UK) with part of his degree requirements being a dissertation on ‘a clinical audit of the management of hyperthyroidism at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital, Trinidad & Tobago’.

Dr Sean Perot was recently elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK) and  is a founding member and President  of the Academy of Diabetes Clinicians of Trinidad & Tobago and a member of the European Society of Endocrinology, The Endocrine Society (USA) and the American Thyroid Association.
